    designed to show postholders what the job of a Patent Attorney
/ r- X' |" i% x3 R1 }    really entails. Successful candidates will receive first hand 0 m. \" n9 d% I
    experience dealing with the UK Patent Office on high tech matters " N7 h, Y4 X% v) B$ m1 X
    within their own field and will be shown the basics of patent
7 e, S! T5 m! O& u    drafting. Finally, successful candidates will handle a ) I( ^: U! v5 Z3 V2 w3 Z5 l
    contentious matter using skills learnt over the course of the
3 T4 [( ]& S6 t2 X    placement to defend or challenge a patent against other placement
* I& P" p' l  b& u/ u    students with an audience of patent attorneys.
