    number of candidates in the week starting 3 August 2009 which is
& _; k/ m1 v- V0 I& X3 y    designed to show postholders what the job of a Patent Attorney
0 R6 T4 q6 w8 m    really entails. Successful candidates will receive first hand 8 l8 `; V: w9 @: \0 t/ q
    experience dealing with the UK Patent Office on high tech matters 6 W7 \9 M8 p: f2 w) x
    within their own field and will be shown the basics of patent
5 A# G: |. W6 i# |) D9 R7 b# L    drafting. Finally, successful candidates will handle a : g' a6 Y0 H+ R3 i4 \# h
    contentious matter using skills learnt over the course of the
9 U' p& W7 T' e; P+ S7 ^8 b    placement to defend or challenge a patent against other placement ) v! B6 p# v6 M" s
