    number of candidates in the week starting 3 August 2009 which is
4 W" x6 t) z7 G2 m8 Y    designed to show postholders what the job of a Patent Attorney
! K7 y2 \: t' F4 p" c5 ~! l( y    really entails. Successful candidates will receive first hand 1 T0 ?2 Q3 D. X% p( q  m8 y! ?+ P
    experience dealing with the UK Patent Office on high tech matters
/ g+ A6 I$ D/ G2 W1 z) N6 s, I5 S1 y    within their own field and will be shown the basics of patent ) U5 f8 A' y6 x8 A
    drafting. Finally, successful candidates will handle a
- w+ `% i( G# V0 q    contentious matter using skills learnt over the course of the , L4 i) L8 s! J" D+ x1 g$ i
    placement to defend or challenge a patent against other placement
