    number of candidates in the week starting 3 August 2009 which is / _0 Z4 D% D- o# T- q0 n3 g$ ?1 z
    designed to show postholders what the job of a Patent Attorney % `( V6 S. P! ]( V' k
    really entails. Successful candidates will receive first hand 5 O. ]6 t) T# U
    experience dealing with the UK Patent Office on high tech matters 0 @# n2 S, Q8 t( K, \, }
    within their own field and will be shown the basics of patent + q& n" f; ^1 E0 v  B
    drafting. Finally, successful candidates will handle a $ G6 W) Q2 h7 D1 X
    contentious matter using skills learnt over the course of the 4 r. h8 z2 v" M2 d% b! m/ A/ R
    placement to defend or challenge a patent against other placement
9 {# N* ~0 Q) B1 G) D3 K. A  r8 i: g1 N    students with an audience of patent attorneys.
