    number of candidates in the week starting 3 August 2009 which is $ D% n6 R; E/ W. v# h# {3 j% ]5 s
    designed to show postholders what the job of a Patent Attorney 6 O2 B5 n6 e6 q- A% k# P
    really entails. Successful candidates will receive first hand
7 K7 [! r/ e& @    experience dealing with the UK Patent Office on high tech matters $ D4 \4 }& W# E+ L' q; h
    within their own field and will be shown the basics of patent
) n$ w+ u, F8 J5 l! t    drafting. Finally, successful candidates will handle a
/ G8 N) Z7 f. l$ g, H1 H    contentious matter using skills learnt over the course of the
% [  d) N. S9 M: r: F+ z3 L6 w/ ~    placement to defend or challenge a patent against other placement 9 }0 M, d  w: B, {# i$ x6 z; {
    students with an audience of patent attorneys.
