    The firm is running a Summer Placement Scheme for a limited
& z- a- g" U. e: e( |& k( f, [    number of candidates in the week starting 3 August 2009 which is
5 e. ^8 I+ M, J' {. H* M  Q    designed to show postholders what the job of a Patent Attorney
( {* `" k. b( V! q* K) @! C    really entails. Successful candidates will receive first hand 8 g# |% I' T& ~
    experience dealing with the UK Patent Office on high tech matters ! m, X  |# f  r7 K) U) f
    within their own field and will be shown the basics of patent
& g! }* ]3 b0 ^! X( n2 ?; A, ^    drafting. Finally, successful candidates will handle a + ]: S, j2 X+ }" }3 I$ `1 ~7 x! r
    contentious matter using skills learnt over the course of the / t( d) ~# \1 R7 j9 v
    placement to defend or challenge a patent against other placement
9 W; w6 |1 n. e- i0 Y) |1 l  n' Q    students with an audience of patent attorneys. 9 N1 o) I* {2 N; m3 @
