    designed to show postholders what the job of a Patent Attorney
; _( e! i. [* D: y3 s* A    really entails. Successful candidates will receive first hand / h9 \* d" ]& K$ k1 k
    experience dealing with the UK Patent Office on high tech matters
  E* d1 f! \. M8 J1 M0 I& y    within their own field and will be shown the basics of patent ! D; n, h, Q  Y' M% j! z. m/ L
    drafting. Finally, successful candidates will handle a
% @! f4 e, ]6 ~- ?. B1 P0 l/ u% P. q    contentious matter using skills learnt over the course of the 8 F- x/ H0 S# z! w  P( G
    placement to defend or challenge a patent against other placement 7 M4 r4 T( v0 g6 {- w2 H3 O- {$ P
    students with an audience of patent attorneys.
