    number of candidates in the week starting 3 August 2009 which is 9 k8 x* H" w$ k2 K
    designed to show postholders what the job of a Patent Attorney
- M+ t, x' Y. n9 h    really entails. Successful candidates will receive first hand + Y  X  P, Z& U0 C4 X
    experience dealing with the UK Patent Office on high tech matters
" C/ n; \- v* Y& v6 L    within their own field and will be shown the basics of patent
( D( d2 K0 L( `/ d    drafting. Finally, successful candidates will handle a
0 m  b1 s" \, s1 W    contentious matter using skills learnt over the course of the 1 o" w! B5 i: {7 }- x0 Q
    placement to defend or challenge a patent against other placement
+ y* s. S4 V5 C/ U    students with an audience of patent attorneys.
