Remember, remember the fifth of November! How could I forget? That’s the date back in 1605 when that pesky Guy Fawkes tried to blow up the Houses of Parliament!

These days there is a right old celebration every year that involves the burning of Guy’s effigy, huge amounts of cash spent on highly technical displays and big, brash bonfires.

Gunpowder junkies will be pleased to hear that Bonfire night starts early in Manchester this year, with events starting on November 1 and running through to November 5

The bigger events will feature funfairs, stalls and entertainment, not to mention those fantastic fireworks displays.

So don’t just limit yourself to one night like everyone else, make a week out of it!
