We know that some students have been refused their Tier 1 – Post Study5 f3 t$ a& d$ L
Work visas because the Home office has not accepted the confirmation
. g+ }2 G% B2 J m8 Vof award letter issued by the Student Services Centre as proof of the
& L6 s% \# u; H/ c' N! Hstudent's award. We wrote to the Home Office about this issue and they* M6 Y% M4 I" ]" N! h; y
have now confirmed that our confirmation of award letter (the version! }, r, X) D' S Y. H$ \) d
issued in or after November) is sufficient proof that a student has
$ W, x3 W( \ N# hbeen awarded their degree. They have also agreed to reconsider' _1 V! R3 c! V W' l) W
students' applications which were refused on this basis.

confirmation of award letter issued by us then you need to come to the
8 h" r* E( c6 f5 j; vStudent Services Centre to speak to a member of the International
# g9 R |" t, T# t+ T1 ]Advice Team. You also need to bring in your refusal notice and the
2 R+ ^: l4 b9 Y, S& A: }confirmation of award letter that you submitted as part of your
/ L7 ]' w' S8 poriginal application. In order to do this you must ring us on 0161 275
( l# u& D w7 a; B8 P; k! z5000 (Option 1) to make an appointment to see a member of the0 J* [3 z, q% H" L: M4 E
International Advice Team.
