    number of candidates in the week starting 3 August 2009 which is
% C6 s2 r/ A  _4 b    designed to show postholders what the job of a Patent Attorney
" k4 G' `3 H8 o$ ?    really entails. Successful candidates will receive first hand
) C( R1 E& H4 o+ W! N- A5 B    experience dealing with the UK Patent Office on high tech matters ) D1 _% h, \# q' b+ L9 z+ c9 o! W2 q
    within their own field and will be shown the basics of patent : l6 A" B) m! d# s% U+ X( ]
    drafting. Finally, successful candidates will handle a 8 ]; D- T: S: D1 K/ ~
    contentious matter using skills learnt over the course of the
6 Q5 d  L3 D+ q) W/ N- M5 n( q    placement to defend or challenge a patent against other placement
& \! M# L9 H* J1 l1 L. z- [# g    students with an audience of patent attorneys.
