In order to maximize the use of the Chinese books, Huaxia Chinese School plans to provide a mobile library service for pupils. To ensure the smooth running of the library, the School intends to recruit a library administrator. The job will start in September 2007. The wage will be round 20 pounds per week. 8 r# x7 A6 w3 H/ ]+ d

Job responsibilities:

Keeping the school library open for most Sundays during term time from 11am to 1pm;8 |$ L( H5 L$ K8 w

; s0 W1 Y7 @3 MHelping on setting up an effective library procedure for borrowing and returning books;, {1 \1 @3 A5 V8 {7 O/ C
o, t# H+ Z2 b) U
Liaise with the Head teacher to ensure stock maintenance for weekly need, including carrying small number of books between the school and storing place every week;! u: f8 C& X6 L( i) k4 e* ~. H$ z
o' r' ?4 ?9 T  P9 r' P9 Z
Dealing with customer enquiries such as book reservation, renewal and other general queries relating to the library stock via email and/or on Sundays at School desk, and retrieve the requested item accordingly
& o/ P  e; a% No/ D, Q6 c6 `- i& ]' Z; _
Undertaking limited cash handling (e.g. fines)# y% e1 f! J9 H- E! l

% }( t% W# P( |# B9 p+ qMaintaining borrowing record and updating available book list accordingly7 Y) i' n" n- b9 o( L5 \% u) {. ^
The ideal candidate should

, d; l) N8 K6 Pbe reliable, responsible and friendly, having attention to details
0 p# J- H+ O: R! ho1 O0 |/ z$ l' u# Q5 }; h! q, t5 y/ F
have ability to work under pressure and with limited or no immediate supervision;
' ~9 B9 h) A0 Ro5 ]( L) X, \6 [1 @9 j# u! {
have own transport" J7 R) m' d+ m1 p8 \* e' o
o# f$ e8 E9 _, n$ }( j) Y9 ]% `
be familiar with common office software such as MS Office

, O9 y" K5 Q- M5 ?have Internet access and is willing to be trained for updating online book list

1 g9 E1 b( V1 _  bbe able to communicate in both English and Chinese+ r7 u& h6 I; \" V5 }6 _
Previous experience of working in a customer service environment would be an advantage.% g' P8 W. I0 o' m$ R6 i- a
