第一门核心课由Steve Ross来讲;潘军,此人与Campbell和Mackinlay合著的那本The Econometrics in Financial Markets几乎所有finance PhD人手一本, Z4 C& C8 ^% _" X
Stanford:特点是系小，但是很精。主要着重在asset pricing方面，系主任Duffie应该是在asset pricing上顶级的人物，尤其在continuous time方面，所著dynamic asset pricing theory几乎是这个方向上的通用教材。另外Singleton等人的affine yield term structure model也以成为该系的标志之一# v5 e- ]. U, K

Stern(NYU):中国的professor有戴强和梅剑平' C8 O2 Y* z" U0 c3 k) p N- H% h+ ]

' J' }4 Q+ v' w3 F/ _过AFA的president，前两人几年前去过北大。）中国的professor有刘军，现在好像负责招生的工作，原来北大毕业的，Stanford的PhD。今年的一个毕业生Ashley Wang原来是北大的7 Y4 G! O# G, P
3 o y1 E2 M) r4 a1 LHaas(UCBerkeley)：Berkeley的finance professor不多，但名声都很好，在asset pricing方面似乎更有名气。Mark Rubinstein当初和Cox等人的binomial tree model现在+仍在industry被广泛的用于option pricing，是一个理论指导实践的典范，他的那本options markets与Hull的那本齐名，在derivatives方面是权威的书目（尤其是在industry及advanced mba level上，包括financial engineering)

这里毕业的优秀博士近年来在HARVARD BUSINESS SCHOOL（LUCY WHITE），U CHICAGO（Wouter Dessein），NWU（ALESSANDRO PAVAN），CMU（Guillaume Plantin），University of Wisconsin-Madison（LUCIA QUESADA），LSE，Rochester，CAMBRIDGE等得到tenure tracking教职。而且有些学生在几年内都拿到了终生教职。LAFFONT 的一个学生Martimort（《激励理论》的作者）更是被英国经济学家杂志评选为十个最可能得诺奖的青年经济学家之一。

1 f' I- {8 T M9 i不过这里第一年只有两个到四个全奖给中国人，不过这里没有学费，生活费只有4——6万人民币一年。 寄托家园

& P( ^, X0 u. `4 ]然而，最困难的是你必须是第一年的前八名（一共有三十个学生左右）才能保证得到以后三年的全奖，否则就不一定了。这里淘汰率是第一年50%，即三十个人中只有12个第二年能留下来，拿全奖的更少了。 - J' |+ D M. L1 N _- A# v* Q4 o

何况一些这里的老外在大四就已经学过很多高级经济学课程：微观方面在大4他们学习了Varian的Microeconomic Analysis（国内翻译为称《高级微观经济学》），计量他们大4学过GMM，VAR（向量自回归），宏观他们在大3都学过RAMSEY MODEL， overlapping-generations model。LSE的本科生(我们班上有LSE的)都要学mechanism design, implementation. 留学,考试,TOEFL,GRE,GMAT,IELTS,SAT,VISA,文书,签证,论坛,出国,申请,美国,英国,欧洲,加拿大,USA: N' r3 A8 u: e/ [" x! Z0 K& L) K- G
V" i* _1 S) P1 E所以根据最近几年的统计，这里的中国学生能留下来的并不多，不到一半，原因除了竞争太激烈，还可能是基础不够好和环境适应得不够好。总之,比美国的一般学校留下来难一些。 N& _+ u& u; B6 d# z

当然也不要害怕，如果你有有经济学的天分和感觉（对经济学和数学问题反应快，敏锐），并且能够“享受”寂寞一人，一天学习十二个小时以上，没有周末和假期的生活，（我认为只有真正的完美主义者，理想主义者和真正喜欢经济学的人才能做到如此投入），那就来吧！ 寄托家园
