    number of candidates in the week starting 3 August 2009 which is
+ L0 ?# c7 [" [: R1 ?  {    designed to show postholders what the job of a Patent Attorney 5 _2 L% U2 A7 m3 ^0 m
    really entails. Successful candidates will receive first hand ! [  R7 ?5 \9 {+ C! W2 p+ E& ]% f' ^
    experience dealing with the UK Patent Office on high tech matters 4 ?9 a" L! Y& E+ v8 U
    within their own field and will be shown the basics of patent $ e5 V% q' @/ d; e! w
    drafting. Finally, successful candidates will handle a 5 Q2 p: m7 C7 ]) d+ B2 m5 I+ K
    contentious matter using skills learnt over the course of the 6 q$ t2 z& P) X$ \1 Z2 K4 t  a
    placement to defend or challenge a patent against other placement
