Just walk into the General Consulate and speak to the officer nicely, explain the situation.

Tell them you have booked everything but unable to make the appointment before that, ask them if they could make you an appointment at any day before 25th March (the last appointment date you can possiblely get a visa before 28th), and see what happens.
