all these courses are provide handouts, books can be borrowed from lib, no need to buy books.
Im from software engineering, so some courses i cannot give you advice:

BMAN60112 IS Strategy and Enterprise Systems (15 credits) -- i didnt take

BMAN71631 Distributed Systems and Internet Technology (15 credits) -- super easy, if you really want a book, you can bring 'Computer Networking -- a top-down approach featuring the internet'. In China, you can find chinese version, in Manchester University's lib, you can find english version. I guess you have this book...it's my undergrade course.........

BMAN71652 Information and Knowledge Management (15 credits) -- i didnt take

COMP60362 Advanced Database Management Systems (15 credits) -- teacher will give you lots of handouts and papers to read, no need to buy books.

COMP60992 Research Skills and Professional Issues (30 credits) -- this course is for your MSc projects and your dissertation, no books or handouts to read, need to submit an initial report for your MSc projects (the same as dissertation proposal)

COMP67310 IT Leadership Forum (BMAN71621) (15 credits) -- as you see...it's a forum...different presentations from different companys.....very boring and useless.....an individual report and a group coursework to submit

All of the units in this pool are mandatory.Option Pool 1
COMP60110 System Construction Using B (15 credits) -- Great course! I love the teacher and the things he taught me!~~~enough handouts provided by teacher...

COMP67030 Web Applications (15 credits) -- stupid.... but...easy to pass....will use java, jsp, netbean... lots of docs can be found on the internet. also handouts provide

COMP67050 Patterns for eBusiness Applications (15 credits) -- i didnt take

btw:
COMP60362 is the hardest course in the programme i think, in my studying year. Really really lots of things to read. Maybe the teacher will change something in your year, but...still need to work hard for it. I think it's the most important and useful course in whole programme....the only course that worth the price...

COMP60110: although i said it's a great course, but i dont advice you to chose it. It's completely useless for you............................unless you want to learn how to design a program in strice logice and structure...

B is a kind of language....using Rodin B to develop it.
It used to design and develop program step by step, from most basic logic to a more complex logic.

I think we can say, it is another kind design tool which just like UML..................em...hard to say very clearly.....is all about logic~haha
