In order to maximize the use of the Chinese books, Huaxia Chinese School plans to provide a mobile library service for pupils. To ensure the smooth running of the library, the School intends to recruit a library administrator. The job will start in September 2007. The wage will be round 20 pounds per week.

% p* H7 A% j7 _" O7 }Keeping the school library open for most Sundays during term time from 11am to 1pm;
* M& d* d6 h8 l5 {; D( Qo/ y' v" n( r5 z8 m8 J5 z
Helping on setting up an effective library procedure for borrowing and returning books;

# n. i! L" X* g" {: q% a9 tLiaise with the Head teacher to ensure stock maintenance for weekly need, including carrying small number of books between the school and storing place every week;

Dealing with customer enquiries such as book reservation, renewal and other general queries relating to the library stock via email and/or on Sundays at School desk, and retrieve the requested item accordingly$ w& _* f5 u" b' c& [

Undertaking limited cash handling (e.g. fines)

The ideal candidate should

be reliable, responsible and friendly, having attention to details
# q+ g$ M& ^' ^2 J# po
2 r+ N( t. k# X2 n; b: o* o* R, Yhave ability to work under pressure and with limited or no immediate supervision; 3 y+ Y/ ~9 V7 S

; _) o. ?- S0 F( V8 \3 g2 rhave own transport) s6 d( [8 }; f0 \, ^1 T# F8 Q
o: J" z$ B5 q( v4 i, t; y. W
be familiar with common office software such as MS Office

have Internet access and is willing to be trained for updating online book list

1 t4 n3 p2 a, H8 e8 E9 Vbe able to communicate in both English and Chinese
2 I1 z  G# i! U9 \Previous experience of working in a customer service environment would be an advantage.
